London Fashion Week: ACNE SS '13 by WELLA!

The Acne SS ‘13 show created the “Handsome Women” look to bring its presentation to life. The Global Creative Director of Wella Professionals, Eugene Souleiman, used a sculpted and clean look with a simple ponytail. The trick was all in the angled partings which gave “touches of Victoriana, equestrian, punk and bondage.” The gel stripe technique created a glossy “architectural feel” from the runway’s lighting. Anyone can try this cool technique!

Get the look:

1. Start with clean freshly washed and conditioned hair.

2.   Blow dry flat using Wella Professionals Flowing Form Smoothing Balm to create a smooth sleek finish.

3.  Straighten hair to ensure perfectly smooth hair then make a deep side, centre or diagonal parting.

4.  Section the hair into three, back, left and right and brush the back section smoothly down and tie tightly off at the nape of the neck.

5. Pull back the right side of the hair taut, brushing smooth with Wella Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray to create a perfectly smooth look and tie into the pony tail.

6. Repeat with the left side.

7. Taking a tinting brush, paint on a stripe of Wella Professionals Sculpt Force Flubber Gel down one side of the hair line to the top of the ear. Using a diffuser, dry the gel strip to ‘set it’.

8. Finally spray a light mist of Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray to create a perfectly sleek look.

PENELOPE CRUZ

Styled by Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte
The Look:  Very old Hollywood glamour, channeling the 1950s Grace Kelly finger waves to complement her Armani Privé gown.

Here’s how Andy suggests getting the look:

  1. Start with dry hair and use a small amount of Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse at the roots.
  2. Set hair in steam hot rollers by rolling hair straight back from the head.  This gives hair texture and curl.  Use smaller rollers in the back to create a tighter curl, then pin hair underneath into a faux bob.
  3. Lightly mist with Wella Professionals Dynamic Fix 45 Second Crafting Spray, then back comb and tease at the root.  Brush out the finger waves into place and set with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray.
